Save the children
I have become somewhat of a news junkie these past couple of years and some may even say I am now a conspiracy theorist.
I never used to be either. I only read newspapers if I was bored and they were laying around. (Or I had to for my PR work.) To most conspiracy theories I used to say, “I work for the government and I can’t see them coordinating anything on a large scale.” (Except maybe military operations.)
But the point of this isn’t to talk about how someone may label me.
I mention it only because I have been reading a deluge of stories lately about the harms being done to our children, and believing them because of both the shear volume of them and the sources. (Given that I am currently the parent of a young child I am particularly sensitive to these stories right now.)
As a Christian, I wonder what my response should be?
Always to love my neighbor. To love my enemy.
But do I also fight against atrocities? How? Do I just allow my neighbor to do things that harm my child? Other children? Where do I draw the line?
Those are not rhetorical questions for me. I am searching for answers. (Feel free to post your thoughts.)
Here’s one example of what I’m talking about.
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has been asked to “investigate and prosecute” Americans who question child sex-change surgeries. This call came in the form of a letter to the DOJ from the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Children’s Hospital Association.
In the letter, which you can read here, these organizations claim that health care systems are being attacked for providing “evidence-based health care” and that “providers of evidence-based gender-affirming health care and their colleagues are facing increased stress and fear”.
I’m questioning how they can engage in child mutilation and in the same breath say they are “dedicated to the health and well-being of all children and adolescents.”
I’m not questioning whether or not they are truly being attacked, although they don’t provide any evidence for such. I’m questioning how they can engage in child mutilation and in the same breath say they are “dedicated to the health and well-being of all children and adolescents.”
Here are just three (of the many) reasons I call it “child mutilation.”
“Top surgery” where a female’s breasts are cut off and not because they are diseased but because a teenage girl wants to be a boy.
Phalloplasty, where a “large section” of tissue is taken from another part of a teenager’s body, such as her arm, thigh or back, to make a fake penis. This procedure includes removing her female genitals, extending the urethra, constructing a scrotum, implanting a device to enable erections and inserting artificial testicles.
Orchiectomy combined with a vaginoplasty, where one or both testicles is removed from a biological male and part of the scrotal tissue is used to create a new vaginal lining (or in lieu of scrotal tissue, skin from the upper thigh is used).
I could go on, but for anyone who has ever raised teenagers or was one themselves, it seems obvious that they are not mature enough to decide whether they should permanently disfigure their bodies. After all, they could change their minds as they grow older.
When I was a teenager I thought it would be cool to be part of the Charles Manson family. It didn’t take me long to change my mind on that. I’m glad today’s standards weren’t around back then.
As I read articles like this I wonder why organizations like the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics seem to be pushing these practices? Why do they seemingly all of a sudden, want to make sex the primary focus for our children?
If a teenager wants to be a different gender, why must they immediately go into disfiguring their body? Can’t they wait until they’re at least 21 (and preferably 25 when the judgement part of their brains are fully developed)?
I’ve read several stories by young adults who went straight into that route of disfigurement, such as Chloe Cole. Those who soon after regretted it, say no one counseled them, no one told them to wait, no one questioned their decisions or their judgement. And they all regret it now.
Who’s protecting the children? Parents aren’t being allowed to.
And it appears now that it’s not our medical establishment.
And it’s not the government. Look at the bill that California governor Gavin Newsom just signed, that according to the Mercury News, “will subject doctors to discipline and possible suspension of their licenses to practice for spreading misinformation about the COVID-19 pandemic to patients.”
Now granted, that’s not about children per se, but it’s a slippery slope when you allow discipline for disinformation, which according to the new law “means misinformation that the licensee deliberately disseminated with malicious intent or an intent to mislead.”
It won’t take much to change a few words and make it “unprofessional conduct” to not see transgenderism the same as the party line does, or anything else being sold that week.
Why are legislators deciding what is or isn’t appropriate when it comes to medical issues?
Am I just being paranoid?
Those who adhere to science, cannot, by definition (“the observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, and theoretical explanation of phenomena”), so readily declare they know all there is to know about things for which we don’t yet have all the data.
Parents are being attacked too, simply for standing up for children. Look at what happened to pro-life author Mark Houck. An FBI SWAT team raided his home while his wife and children were present.
He is accused of violating the law during his regular sidewalk counseling outside of an abortion clinic in 2021. He was arrested at his rural Pennsylvania home by armed FBI agents for allegedly violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.
“25 to 30 fully-armored FBI agents stormed their property ... aiming their rifles as the children screamed in horror.”
Maybe he did break the law. But if so, why didn’t they arrest him right away? Why did they need to send a SWAT team to terrify his family? Isn’t that what you do with only the most hardened of criminals?
According to a story in Slaynews, “Houck’s wife, Ryan-Marie, said that around 25 to 30 fully-armored FBI agents stormed their property ... aiming their rifles as the children screamed in horror.”
The story went on to quote Ryan-Marie about the raid. “They started pounding on the door and yelling for us to open it.”
She also said that prior to opening the door, her husband tried to reason with the agents to calm them down for the sake of his children. He allegedly said, “Please, I’m going to open the door, but, please, my children are in the home. I have seven babies in the house.”
Houck is the founder and president of The King’s Men, a Christian group that helps men overcome pornography addiction and “be better husbands.”
Is it conspiracy theorist-like to wonder why a SWAT team is needed for a man who supports life? And why is the FBI so quick to act, and act so violently for someone who was counseling women to not get an abortion but meanwhile still hasn’t charged the people involved in vandalizing and destroying pro-life centers across the nation?
It seems we are quickly being forced to accept it all, without question or discussion, before we can think too carefully, at an unprecedented level. Look at this story out of Texas.
The Epoch Times reports that the “Texas American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) presented a ‘best practices’ program on transgender student legal issues based on an interpretation by President Joe Biden’s Department of Education during a Sept. 24 convention in San Antonio.”
At the event, “ACLU attorneys gave a presentation at the convention that included transgender students speaking directly to officials on ‘challenges’ in schools over restrooms, sports, dress codes, pronouns, and bullying.”
“David Hamilton, a member of the Fort Bend Independent School Board who attended the ACLU presentation, posted on Twitter that the union was ‘trying to force Texas public schools to allow boys in girls’ locker rooms, showers, restrooms, and athletics.’”
The article also stated “Texas state Rep. Steve Toth (R-Woodlands) agreed there is a concerted effort to push schools to accept the Biden administration’s interpretation of Title IX as law. But part of the problem lies with the trustees who don’t question what they’re told, he said.
‘There’s no way this isn’t coordinated,’ he said. ‘We’re hearing this in all 50 states.’”
I could go on and talk about all the “family friendly” drag shows being scheduled in too many places that target children, but I think I’ve made my point.
Children and families are at risk. How do we save them?
