First, I’m very excited to say I’m starting to see light at the end of my fiction writing tunnel. I have about four more chapters to write and some editing work and I’ll have a completed manuscript to share with you.
That could take some time, since I’m still only writing an average of 30 minutes a day, but when I am ready, I would love three to four beta readers. If you are interested in that, I will provide a list of the types of things I’d be looking for from you. Also please note there will be a few swear words in the text and some possibly disturbing material. I can provide more details to those who are interested in being a beta reader.
As much as I love to write, I also love to read. Following are some excerpts of what I’ve been reading lately, with links to the material if you want to know more. There is a lot going on in the world (some very scary) so being lost in a fiction world every day, even if only for a little while, is fun for me.
Please note, I don’t agree with all of the views expressed in the following, but I think as a whole, the information provides a lot of depth. Enjoy.
A political speech so amazing that within 24 hours it was removed from YouTube "for violating YouTube's terms of service"
Granted, I’ve never read YouTube’s terms of service, but I find it hard to believe that a speech from Italy’s new prime minister, Giorgia Meloni could violate the terms. I listened to it when it was first put up. It was more charismatic than Barak Obama’s early speeches. I think that’s saying a lot. In it Meloni lays out her beliefs. It’s worth a listen. While you no longer can get the whole speech on YouTube, you can get a voice over (with a male voice) here and here you can listen to a slip from the original where you can get a taste of her fervor (plus the melodic sound of Italian).
Illegal immigrants suing Gov. DeSantis for $75,000 each
Who do you think will win?
Ann Coulter covers the story in her Substack here:
In the same article Coulter also covers how “clean, high-trust, homogeneous Minnesota became a hotbed of crime, terrorism and welfare fraud” as a result of 100,000 Somalis settling there. Via some of these immigrants, our tax money has funded foreign fighters to ISIS and more.
“Impossible to explain” data if the vaccines are “safe and effective”
In covid-related news, Steve Kirsch posts clinical evidence of vaccine harm from not one, not two, but multiple credible sources.
His list includes:
Phase 3 clinical trial data
Official government data
Statements from government officials
Independent expert reports solicited by government officials
Pre-prints from highly credible sources
Papers published in peer-reviewed medical journals
Autopsy reports
Excess Child Deaths Spike 755% in Europe This Year
You may have heard of the newly coined acronym “SADS” or Sudden Adult Death Syndrome. This version in children is not SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). It’s just sad. Especially since it’s avoidable. If you want to read the disturbing story, you can see it here.
Unfortunately the same thing is likely happening in the United States. We just don’t have the data (yet?).
Two Bombings in One Night? That’s Normal Now in Sweden
Common Sense, a newsletter about “hard truths” for folks who are “neither hard left nor hard right” and edited by Bari Weiss, covers little-reported news about why Swedes may have voted in a right-wing government.
“Fully vaccinated people had a higher risk of being infected with Covid”
More covid-related news, this time from former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson. Here he covers a peer-reviewed British study of 9.1 million people and almost 600,000 Covid infections in 2021. The study demonstrates that the effectiveness of the shots, even last year “at the peak of their effectiveness,” was badly overstated. Check out the full story here:
“Give me a mango on a hot day, and I can salivate”
In this fun YouTube video, Chef AJ interviews Chef Babette, a nearly 72-year-old California restaurant owner. Check it out, even if for just a couple minutes, to see how amazing a person with a good diet can look in her 70s. And by the way, she plans to do 75-100 pushups for her birthday.
